Java is everywhere, and for good reason. A one-size-fits all technology that performs in server-side applications, native desktop apps, and of course, Android. A massively powerful and versatile language that, some say, might be running on your toaster.

It has also found its way to the server-side, with revolutionary frameworks like Node.js and Meteor, which are quickly defining what is meant by Web 3.0

Never underestimate the power of python. Simplicity and elegance lends itself to speed of development and incredible agility. Robust frameworks built on python sometimes make web app development a bit too easy.

PHP has been thought to be a quick and dirty way to build dynamic web pages. Yet, much of the Facebook platform (and the entire internet for that matter) is still built upon it. Used properly, it provides just as elegant an environment as any, and it allows for the simplest and most cost-effective deployment options of any web technology.
